Savin Super G3 fax error code

I have an error code 0544 on the fax machines. I had pulled out the fuser unit to move it to another Super G3 but even after putting it back into the same unit, the code popped up. What should I do?

    More information:

It's a Ricoh 5510 - The fax repair person is having trouble resetting the code 0544. Any ideas? Help!!

    End user??

First of all ... What model is the machine? Super G3 is not the model.

Secondly, you sound like an end user so if you are....my advice is to go back to your desk and let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages and call a local dealer for repair. You probably left the power on when you swapped the fuser unit or the other fuser unit is bad, so your machine tossed a fusing error code that can only be reset through service modes.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

Get a better fax repair person? Maybe one who is trained on the machine would be good. More expensive maybe, but the end justifies the means.

          Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!

Tell "the fax repair person" to access SP modes and set printer switch 01 bit 0 to 1 and turn the power off and on.

If he's trained on the machine he'll know how to get into SP mode on that model. And if that repair person doesn't know how to access the SP mode. Send him out the door and call an Authorized Dealer.

I love Kopykat's tell-it-like-it-is attitude and use of inverted commas. There I was, beating about the bush...

Thanks Llama God. I have thoroughly enjoyed the majority of your posts. Added rep power for your previous reply. I knew where you where going with it. I guess I just felt the need to spell it out.

You might look stern in your uniform, but you're actually a bit of a softy at heart! Well, unless it's an end-user

LOL! You really do get me!

Actually I'm quite nice to my end users and most like me a lot. But when they break out their Barbie ToolKits...that's when I make them whip out the checkbook.

Here we are taking over Marcia's cry for help by chatting while she sits at her desk wondering how she's going to explain to her boss that she screwed up the fax. Bet she's pissed at me.

I could take her out to lunch to make up for it?

Damn, I can't afford the cost of the flights.

Or the lunch itself come to think of it.

Deal's off darling, you're on your own, unless the fax repair guy you have there fancies stepping up to the plate to say sorry for being inadequate?

                        I feel so smug
