    IS 330 DC vs. ScanRouterV2lite

Trying to set up an IS 330 DC (Scanner) for Scanning with ScanRouterV2lite.

SR discovers the Scanner IP but then fails with "no answer from device"...
The Scanner has Delivery Option turned on and IP of the Box with SRV2lite running registered. Yet no success...

SR is configured correctly and works fine on other Ricoh devices on the network, just this IS 330 DC won't do it....

Is there a compatibility issue ?
Yep, if you dare to have it installed, we support it !

Is the IP address in the delivery server correct? I don't know much about these machines, but can it do SMB rather than using Scanrouter, which is a bit old hat these days?

I believe for this model you need to enter the IP address directly into SR not let SR 'discover' the device.

Not sure why...Just pulling from old memory.

I'd prefer SMB but you probably have old non-SMB stuff already on SR and want tokeep it the same, run into that crap so many times.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

This is correct, manual IP input here, no "auto discovery" and IP registration... done that all right.

No SMB stuff on this old fella...just a SCSI interface for TWAIN over SCSI
and a NIC for TWAIN over TCP and ....the ScanRouter business...

IP is set correctly, can reach the (crappy) Web Interface...

Has anyone a list of which devices are compatible with ScanRouter ?
The settings for SR on the Scanner are there..but is there a compatibility
difference between lite and prof ?
Yep, if you dare to have it installed, we support it !

I had the same problem - after switching off the Windows FIREWALL it worked perfectly. To stay save I switched it on again while opening several ports - now it works with active firewall!

          Hope, that helped?

You are absolutely correct about the port #.

ah, and I remember another important thing:
The IS330DC will be found from ScanRouter but it doesn't has to be added (see manual). It's enough to open the desired ports in the firewall and add a new user in ScanRouter - the Scanner then finds it (after addressbookupdate) an delivers its scans to that user.

Why don't you use the twain-driver? It works via network!

                    still no good

Firewall is completely down for troubleshooting purpose...

Problem still there - in the Manual (of the last post) it fails between Pages 34-35...where it says it may take a minute or two....

it takes a minute...and then "no answer from device"...

Hey, this scanner-behaviour is absolutely normal. The scanner will be found with its correct IP-Address, but it doesn't answer (so tells the Service-Manual, if you have one). It's enough to disable the firewall (or certain ports on it) and "add a new user" to ScanRouter Lite V2. No need to "add a new device"!

The Scanner then will find this new user (if the ports on your firewall are open), so you're able to send your scans to this user!

But again I have to ask: Why don't you use the TWAIN-Driver V3 from the RICOH-Service-Site? It works perfectly with PhotoShop, Acrobat etc. without changing firewall-settings etc. The optional Frontpanel of the Scanner then becomes needless, but the handling via PC is perfect.

LET's GET THIS THING TO WORK!

Hey man - thanks, it works ! Now I dig it how this is supposed to work... strange behavior though compared to the "usual" proceedings...

TWAIN is not an option as there are other appliances running on scanrouter already...it would just spoil the look and feel of the whole thing...

                        thanks indeed !!!
