[Misc] Keeping address book entry selected after scanning

I have a customer who just got their Ricoh mpc6004 replaced with a Ricoh IMC6000. A week after the new machine was installed the customer calls wanting to know how to keep their name selected even after the scan job is complete. The old machine apparently was set up so that the name stayed selected until the system reset timer activated. I have always had them set up so the name clears once the job is complete. I have never seen this type of setup nor can I figure out how to do it.

Of course, by the time the customer called, we had already done the erase all memory on their old machine so I am unable get the settings off of it.

If anyone knows how to do this, I would appreciate the help.

I believe this setting is in SP mode. Scanner SP. Look for something that says something like User Release Info. Change the default setting. If it's a 0 change to 1.

Thank you. I have been going mad trying to figure this out. Even my techs had no idea how to do it. I tried it on one of our machines and it worked perfectly. I am having a tech stop out at the customer to do this tomorrow. You saved me a huge headache. Thanks again.

Many years ago I had that same problem after delivering a new model to an existing customer who updated to the newest model every couple of years. It was their 3rd or 4th machine that they had gotten from us.

The default used to be to keep the setting. It was change to release after each scan on either the 01s or 02s. Apparently whom ever installed the C6004 knew about it and asked which way the customer wanted it set. You might want to add that setting to your pre installation check list.

I have had construction and oil field service companies where they frequently have to send multiple emails to the same addressee. Each email has to do with a different topic or different contract and the customers want separate emails
