Ricoh SR3210 won't staple

Have a Ricoh MP C4504 with a SR3210 Finisher that passes copy but when you try to put it into staple mode the paper only goes into the shifter tray and then just stops and never staples and only gives a J1 jam. Checked and reseated staple cartridge and made no difference. Sometimes doesn't even finish putting all the sheets in the shifter tray. Sometimes
its only one sheet out of 4 sheets, sometimes 2 0r 3 sheets and just stops. Only see a 792-00 SC in service mode, but that code the book says no bridge connected, but it is.
Any input would be appreciated.

SC792-00 is not "No Bridge." it is bridge connected with no finisher. You either have a bad connector for the finisher or the finisher control board has given up the ghost.
