    Aficio 1075 Hard Drive replacement

    We have an aficio 1075 and the hdd is dead. I need to replace it, if possible for a standard pc hdd, since i have lots of these drive.
    Does anybody know if it requires any sort of partition or format previously?
    Does it have to be ATA66 or ATA100?
    Does it have to be a 40gb drive or I could try with 20, 30 or 80gb?
    Any information on how to do this will be very helpful. The machine is installed a bit faraway from the office and I'd like to have as much info as possible before going there and try to replace the drive.

      Any off the shelf PATA will do it. Also doesnt matter too much what size, the 1075 will format it to the required 40G. You dont have to format it first.

              A standard PC hard drive will work, but it should be of the same size as the one you are replacing as it will need to format itself to use the same space (a larger drive is just a waste as it will be dead space). The drive is EIDE if I remember correctly (at least that's what I carry in the 40 GB size and it works in everything I've had to replace).
              You format the drive in service mode: SP 5-832-001. It will do all the heavy lifting for you.
