[Jamming] SR4060 Jam after last work (J105)

    Hello guys

i have a very strange problem, i have a customer that uses a program to print , it's called "PRINT CONDUCTOR", in this software you are able to select x works, and it generates a kind of queue , to send it to the various machines. At the end of each job the software generates a report that is printed on the last used machines.

Now, everything goes fine with an old MP 7500....with some Risograf...a few Konica and a Canon. The only machine that makes strange problems is a Ricoh MP9002 with a SR4060 Finisher. If the customer for example sends 4 files (with staples in the corner or two staples), the machine prints every job fine, at the end the report page enters the stapling unit (but it dont need to staple) and exit the finisher generating a J105, then i have to open and close the door, the report start again, and exits without any jam. The machine have the latest firmware updates, also for the SR4060.

i tried to convince the customer to throw away that s.... software, but no way to convince him, he sais "why it's working with the other machines?, only in the MP9002 we got J105". I've already changed tray lift motor to be shure the problem is not mechanical.

ANY IDEAS?...perhaps timing issue or some SP settings?.

    Than you

For some reason Ricoh left that code out of the MP 9002 service manual. In fact they left out out J101 through J106. Looking at the manual for the MP 9001 with an SR 4030, J105 is an exit after jogging jam. Goose's Guide says check the hook switch on the stack out feed. Interesting thing is that last report being a single page job should not even be going onto the staple table. The only reasons I can see for that sheet being on the staple table are a software error in which that software is send it as a staple job, a firmware error or the solenoid for the gate that sends jobs to the staple table is sticking.

I have found that the rubber washers on solenoids as they age become sticky and can delay a solenoid's release. The only reason they are there is to make the solenoid's operation a little quieter, no loud click when it energizes. Try removing it and see if the jam goes away.

As for firmware, initially peripheral firmware was not included in package firmware. Finishers had to be updated with module firmware, or at least on my side of the pond.

Thank you Slimslob for your comment!

I also think that this is a software related problem... Because it happens only if the customer uses PRINT CONDUCTOR to manage the print queues, and only on the Mp9002... Very strange problem. I'll try next week on another customer with a Mp7502...
