    Pro 8100s + RT5100

    Hello,
I would like to ask for help regarding the inoperability of Ricoh 8100s and RT5100 set.

In this case RT5100 probably comes from C7100 set, because of installed Banner Sheet Tray, had also some minor issues (broken blades in fan - replaced).
Before connecting to 8100, Banner Tray was deinstalled, assuming its incompatibility with machine.

    Machine alone, works without problem.

However RT5100 connected to the machine doesn't take paper (both T1 and T2) - lifting paper works, paper sizes are properly recognized.

    - it's not the problem of the RT5100 firmware (uploaded fresh firmware from Pro 8100 package)
    - it's not the problem of the RT5100 mainboard also (replaced)

    Any thoughts?

PS. I'm not very familiar with Ricoh machines (mostly Konica Minolta), so please be understanding.

    Re: Pro 8100s + RT5100

The RT5100 was added as a peripheral for the Pro 8100 provided the correct firmware is on each. One thing with that old a model, package firmware most likely does not include peripheral firmware. After updating the main frame with package you must then update peripherals using individual firmware. If you downloaded the package as a zip file, it should have included a pdf that listed what individual firmware it included.

      Update
Firmware has been updated to the latest available version (both machine, and the RT) - still don't work together.
When starting a job from T1 or T2, machine throws J430 misfeed after a while - vacuum fans doesn't start at all.
After manually setting speed of the vacuum and separation fans from service mode, the machine is able to take paper and print from T1 and T2 - however with default [Auto] fans speed doesn't work.

      Solution
It seems that the machine had corrupted or missing Media Library - update did the job, and solved problem.
