Problem with 802.1x authentication on IM 550

A customer has an IM 550 ; In the IEEE 802.1x settings I enter the parameters of your server (username, password, EAP type, etc).
When trying to authenticate automatically I am expelled from the network.
Other than network settings, is there any step that I am ignoring? .
    Thanks in advance.

Does the IM 550 have the IEEE 802.11 Interface Unit Type M24 installed? If not then what you entered was not stored anywhere. By enabling IEEE 802.1x in interface settings you have in effect turned off the network cable jack unless you are using a high end user authentication such as Kerberos.

If you don't have the IEEE 802.11 Interface Unit Type M24, save yourself and your customer some money and go with an external AP relay device. Most are under $50.00 US as compared to $400 to $600 for Ricoh's over priced interface board.

I concur with Slimslob. Excellent advice. You can try the Tenda F9. It's a good unit and easy to setup.

Also if you having problems with the wireless setup try the wired connection. Make sure to switch off the WiFi connection on the MFP

      All the best friend

I understand what you are saying, however the same client has an MP 5002 that is authenticated like this and it does not have 802.11.
This installation was carried out by the old company that provided support, therefore the procedure carried out is a complete mystery to me.

Here is a thread that might help. MPC3003 and Using Kerberos Authentication for Scan to File

Print SP5-990-006 for both machines and look to see what is different.

Re: Problem with 802.1x authentication on IM 550

            Good afternoon.
Today I went back to the client, checked the Non-default and compared it with the mfp that is authenticated, I noticed that the parameters are the same (it should be noted that I already did a memory deletion by both SP and User Tools).
I still can't find where the fault lies.
            Thanks in advance

              [QUOTE=giovanio;2357505]客戶有一個 IM 550;在 IEEE 802.1x 設置中,我輸入服務器的參數(用戶名、密碼、EAP 類型等)。
              當嘗試自動進行身份驗證時,我被逐出了網絡。
              除了網絡設置,還有什麼我忽略的步驟嗎?.
              提前致謝。
