SP C361 print driver does not recognize optional feed tray

Went to a customer yesterday that the machine recognizes the optional feed unit. The WIM shows it. But the print driver does not show it. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it with no luck. Any ideas?

You have to enter the printer printer properties on the computers and let it know what accessories are installed. Depending on the driver; pcl5, pcl6, PS3, etc the tab may be called Accessories, Device settings or something similar. In a network environment it needs to be done first on the server before it is available to select at the work stations.

You most likely have installed the printer using the windows driver, you will need to downloads the model specific driver from Ricoh and select the PCL UPD and add the peripherals like Slimslob has said.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I checked that. All was grayed out and would not let me select the feed unit.

What printer? What print driver? That usually only happens when you are on a workstation on a network or when you are logged in as a user and not an administrator. On shared printers, any option not enabled on the print server will be grayed out on the workstations.

I will be going back tomorrow. I will check if they logged me in as an administrator. It was a Ricoh PCL 6 driver for the C361SFnW. They originally had the Microsoft driver on it.

I will second that. Does it looks the same on other PCs?

Hopefully not the PCL6 Driver for Universal Print or the PCL6 V4 Driver for Universal Print. Universal print original was related to using with pooled printers of different make or model. It makes them all look the same to the OS. If even one printer in the pool does not have an option installed, it will not be available for any printer in the pool. WIM looks directly at the hardware, V4 is only needed for software that require Microsoft V4 compatibility. The last I heard, no widely used software does. Only a few Microsoft custom software,

                  Agree with this.
Just to be sure, I just installed the PCL6 driver for that unit on my PC and the second tray option is readily available

Went back this morning. I was logged in as administrator. Tried the Ricoh PCL 5 & 6 drivers with no luck. The PS driver worked and allowed me to add the optional feed tray. All is good now. Thank you for all the ideas.
