Ricoh MP C6004 toner net set

Has anyone seen this issue. Went to customer because of message: toner cartridge not set. Black. Replaced black toner cartridge sensor, then message came up for yellow cartridge not set. Did not even touch the yellow cartridge or sensor.
So I pushed yellow cartridge in and message went off, then the magenta did it. So I temporarily added cardboard to door to hold cartridges in place. Probably not good idea, but it's working.

I've seen exactly that scenario on a few of the '03's, and I know there is/ was a bulletin about installing stronger springs to keep the bottle from coming loose, but in my cases I resolved it by removing the exit tray, removing the toner bottle and cleaning/ vacuuming the rear hopper and toner bottle contacts that were quite contaminated by toner.
I can see how you adding a bit of extra pressure would accomplish a similar result (temporarily), but cleaning the contacts should give you a better/ longer term solution

I have also had that same problem in some c2504 and as you say, vacuuming the hopper and cleaning the pcbs of the contacts has been solved.
