IM c4500 shift tray collate printing problem

I have a customer that just got IM c4500 has an internal shift tray. in copy mode the shift tray works properly when collate. printing was a different story. Using the Ricoh im c4500 PCL6 driver when they till it to make muliticopies the collate option shows up and they check it. then print copies and they stack on top of each other. we end up using the rotate feature in collate to make it shift. is that normal

Make sure that the shift tray is properly added as an accessory in the print driver, otherwise the computer will not know about it. If the IM C4500 is shared from a Print Server or another computer, it has to be added there first. Rotate sort works because it is probably actually done by the computer selecting the correct paper tray for each copy.
