Got a MP 4055 with the large capacity tray under the machine which is Tray 3 throwing J012 jams.
When it does jam the paper is just below the Transport 2 sensor located in the side door. Ran tray 2 with no issues.
Ive removed the tray 3 feed unit and cleaned the 1 way bearings and installed new feed tires. Found the tray rollers and glides that the tray actually slides on were bent from some one pushing on the tray. Straightened those out but still had the jams. Checked the paper tray lift height on front and rear frame and it seems to be equal.
I played around with it some more and the jams stopped happening and could no longer replicate.
I suspect this will be coming back. Has any body had any issues in the drive pack for the 3rd tray? Im wondering if i have a clutch slipping.
I crash stopped the machine and measured the gap between the pages around the Transport sensor 2 and it was about 5cm. When the jam would happen it was almost 12cm.
