ok have been getting sc 990/564 in sc history i get these consecutively.could it be a rebuilt drum unit that i installed ,i have had this problem w/ 2045/35 and in most cases replacing drum unit helped.could this be the same issue? have replaced thermistors and rebuilt fuser.

990 can be a drum but usually an old one. Maybe firmware, maybe HD. the 564 isnt a valid code.

The SC990 is an internal SC-code. This code is only logged and is not visible on the display. I think the SC990 isn't a problem. I've seen this a lot of times on the SMC-list without causing trouble.

The SC546 has something to do with an unstable fusing temperature. Check thermistors and the connection between the fusing unit and the machine. In the worst case you should replace the power supply.

Which of the codes are after the fuser rebuild and after the drum unit rebuild.
990 can be caused by so many things, loose connection, arcs (pcu, transfer) shorts, fuser. It doesnt have a hd, right?

Well, I can only say that pcu is not designed to be rebuilt, but my guess would be something to do with the drum or charge roller.
