what does the tray parameters do anyway?

    Hi,

What does the tray parameters (PCL) does any way in the ricoh webimage?
it has like auto select tray1,2,3,4, bypass trays with 3 boxes each.

I mean like what kind of value can i put in there?
could you give me an example?

Can it use it to solve the PCL5e Driver issue with the printer?
The reason why i use PCL5e driver is because if i use the pcl6 universal driver it will give PCL XL error.

But somehow i encounter another issue with PCL5e driver.

That is when i print to tray 2, it keeps going to tray 1 unless i select tray 2 and the paper size changed to recycled only then it works.

Which Ricoh models and driver versions are you using?

BTW, the tray parameters are where you input the tray numbers of the escape sequences that are contained in incoming print streams.

Example: You have some weird application that can’t use a Ricoh driver, but still outputs PCL5. The escape sequence contains a “7” for the tray call, but you want the output to go to tray 2.

You need a whole lot of information before making any changes there. Are those settings changed often? Absolutely not.

If you are using any "Universal Print" driver you are most likely the wrong driver. Ricoh lists 3 PCL6 drivers on their download site. Example for the MP C6004 there is the PCL6 Driver v1.5.0.0, PCL6 V4 Driver for Universal Print and PCL 6 Driver for Universal Print. The V4 driver should only be used if and only if you have a Microsoft Software that requires it. Looking up "Universal Print"you will find that it is also a Microsoft functionality.

Use the PCL 6 Driver v1.5.0.0.
