This particular unit keeps coming up with a red lit facimile light and when I depress it it says check for network problems 15-03 I checked to see if forwarding was turned on but it wasnt and cant think of any thing else to cause this . also what memory clear function should I execute to clear all the

You may want to try disabling the email reception option in User Tools.

    System Settings
    File Transfer
    Reception Protocol

    Set to off.

    See if that does it...

For wiping out the address book, try the web interface and deleting everything or Smart Device Monitor for Admin and a crossover cable. It's a lot safer than trying to do a memory wipe as you will lose all of the network settings.

      Change reception protocol to "OFF".

        i had that problem before.
first, you go to user tools, fax features and print the parameter setting.
look at the last few lines for network/lan (can't remember the whole clause) and off it. your current setting for it is on, thats why its showing red on the fax button. but the machine is working perfectly.
        hope that helps

Don't be hyjacking no threads like that! It sometimes takes a minute or so after you turn the machine on to access the fax and printer/scanner settings.
