    Aficio 2027 SC541

I have a 2027 that is regularly giving SC541 codes. The previous tech. has tried replacing the thermistors (multiple times),the power supply, and a new fuser unit.

Unfortunately he has waited until the customer is completely ready to throw the machine out into the street.

I have emergency ordered the fuser connector harness and the SBCU board.

Has anybody seen this problem be so persistant? Any other ideas before I go into the hornets nest?

Thanks in advance for any info.

If its on a surge protector i would take it off and try replacing the thermostat and see what happens after that.Check wall voltage and see if there is any fluctuation.

      Check the PLASTIC bushing stays.
When they break the heat lamp tends to get closer to the thermistors causing over heat failures and blown thermal fuses.
Swap it with a known good fuser.
Took me 2 fuses and a set of themistors to find it.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I think he said that a previous tech order a new fuser? It's not a secret that Ricoh made a big step in copier industry cheap machines good money and who cares. Xerox did it different two salesman dress in black like people from funeral homes drive the customer crazy we buy your lease but we give you better machine and 5 years contract! Codes from Ricoh I really hate is Toner Collect Box full and is not and fuser thermistor problems. In a very dusty envinronment the small thermistor collect whatever you name it dust or just paper dust and stop working. I had a real collections on them and no difference old or new same problem. Konica fix this problem and one of the thermistors won't touch the fuser roller but the other does and is off print area and works on machine without web roller but they try. Ricoh modified the shape of the thermistor and the size and even on new machine is still a pain. I don't have a magic solution for this other than clean it replace it and so on. About a good surge protector is a good joke the price is over $200 and with this budget adjustment allover the place I see no chance. I've order one for a oil plant with real power problems and guess what it's coming with a locker included in box!!! and keys for it.

Set Fusing Idling to ON, and update the Engine firmware to latest version.
