What are the possible causes of the code SC819? Any help appreciated, thank you.

    SC-819:
    Kernel mismatch error
    Software bug
    Software application error

You could try reloading firmware, or it may also be the HDD.
Don't take that toner with me!

      Start with the HDD

Try reformating first, but I would replace the three door switches if the copier has alot of copies.

Try running it without the HDD. As a matter of fact, remove print/scan, fax, expanded memory, and all controller options as well.
If the machine comes to ready, you're controller board is likely ok. Start adding components back on one at a time.
Most Sc819's I've seen on that engine has been the HDD.

Be careful with that - It's a good troubleshooting tip for most machines, but some of the new Ricoh's will not boot at all without a HDD And remember even on the old machines you can't duplex or stable without the HDD

The 1045 will run w/o the HDD. You will lose duplex and sort functions, but, I only mention removing the drive as a temporary troubleshooting measure.
