    IMC 400 Jamming Intermittently

    Hi all,

Had a problem for a few weeks on IMC 400 jamming. Been hard to track as sometimes it jams 3 times within 20 pages, sometimes goes 1000 pages between jams. Always the same though, I have attached pics to show where. About 1.5 inches out of tray 1, the machine logs it as 018 Fusing Entrance (it doesn't get to that sensor).
So far we have swapped out whole tray 1 feed assembly and then the clutches and motor behind it for feed and registration etc. After about 1100 pages it jammed again earlier.
It makes a slightly weird noise a split second before it jams, as you can see in pictures it is always slightly skewed and crumpled as if it hit something, but there is absolutely nothing out of place.
To me it sounds/looks like one set of feed is turning, but another isn't so it kind of crumples. On this one it doesn't even get to registration/transfer, so even if they weren't turning it wouldn't matter because the paper never got that far.
Anyone else seen/had this problem on IMC 300 or 400, maybe even MPC 307/407 as similar model.
I have ideas to swap out ITB and the sensors. Just a pain when it can take over 1000 pages between jams.

Did you try a different paper brand? We experienced more issues due to improper cuttet realms during the last time.
Another thing you might try is to blow out the entire paper path + sensors with compressed air and check all mylars
    for damages.

Yes customers nicer paper and our standard paper. Aside from the slight paper dust from me hammering a couple thousand through it since it got originally cleaned out after 1st call out there is barely anything to even clean. Machine has done less than 40k but unfortunately out of warranty with Ricoh so I can't request free support etc
Mylars are all good, tray lifts fine, the feed turns as expected, the white plastic rollers spin freely, the transfer spins well (sometimes that rubber one before it gets stiff and has to be cleaned and greased, have seen that cause jams on 307's in the past)
The reason you can see smc data on that page in picture is because to save paper, I have been running 100 pages, turning them around and running another 100 on backside and no that isn't the cause of the jamming before anyone tries to slam me for that.
