    3260c Fireflies

New black Drum, black DV, Charge roller, Blade and ITB.
Set up TD and ID adjustments as per manual.
Getting intermittant White fireflies in black halftones and full density.
    Procon and MUSIC adjustments pass.
Seems to come up after machine has been on for a while.
Machine has almost 2M clicks on black and 850K on color.
I could go into adjust bias and charge settings but don't want to take it out of factory if I can help it.
Just looking for the simple solution.
    Anybody have one????
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Make sure all the filters are clean and fans are working. This may be a lack of circulation.

Well just on the copy count alone the Black dev unit has almost 3 million on it. I would look into replacing that unit since even some high volume black and white dev units don't last that long (B140 or B065). I would also wax the black drum with this procedure:

Only recommended wax is white creamy Rain X wax
The procedure is to do the PM on each PCU before putting the drum back in. Then take the drum and clean it with water or D-ink to get it looking good and dry it. Then take a webril pad and put alot of wax on that and with a circular motion put a nice coat on the drum. Let it sit for at least 2 min. then put another coat of wax on. After 3 minutes take a clean, non abrasive cloth and buff ALL the wax off. Then put the drum back in the rebuilt drum unit and as a small bonus you do NOT need to use setting powder on the drum.

Our regional rep swears by the wax and he recommends it for the B230, B132, and D014 models. It makes the drums last much longer and keeps the charge roller from becoming dirty so quickly.

      Good luck

Try replacing or swapping transfer rollers ( inside of your transfer belt )

I inherited this machine from a lazy dealer.
New drum, blade, charge roller. I cleaned and checked the DV unit for wear and sticky bearings.
Same for ITB. Vacumed the transfer roller with a brush attachment and checked for wear.
I am kinda leaning toward what Jomama46 posted.
I will let all now what I found.
          Thanks Guys.

I adjusted 2401-01 from 26 to 15 and problem went away.
High altitude and low humidity was causing transfer roller to arc.
I used to just put a 1MEG ohm resistor inline with transfer corona.
                Thanks for the input guys.

Good to know...do you think that it will work on a MPC 6000?
Usually transfer rollers start arcing when are worn out.

Thanks for the feedback nm. Too often we give ideas to techs and never hear the end result.
