Anyone know where I can get Ricoh fax memory unit Type 12? EDP code MX417102RA, Product code D3A510. I've tried the usual vendors, ebay, Google, etc. but no luck. Is it necessary to use proprietary memory? I'm guessing it probably is...thanks.

Re: Fax memory question(s)
It's not proprietary. you just need to know the type and speed. Do you have the Fax Unit parts catalog? If so the information should be in it or if you have another machine with it installed, the manufacturer's label should provide all the information. The biggest problem will be finding anyone that has memory as small as 64MB. Most are in the GB size. -
Re: Fax memory question(s)
Update: Still no luck finding this fax memory. I've spoken to a couple of authorized dealers and no luck, the EDP code MX417102RA comes back discontinued. Can't find anyone on the web that has it.
I've tried a couple of non Ricoh dimm's, 72 pin/64mb, but they are not recognized. I scoured both the parts manual and service manual but didn't find any useful info. I've never seen a fax board with an extra memory dimm...I guess it's just not a common need.
If anyone out there has this, I'm a willing buyer!Comment

Re: Fax memory question(s)
That could be because of being the wrong size. It may require 32MB. If you can tell us the model FAX, I can check manuals to see exactly what it needs. FYI, Ricoh does not make memory. They off the shelf from memory manufacturers. What their engineers do is write the specs as to what is recognized.Comment

D3A55192 PCB:SDRAM-DIMM:64MB:PC100. If it is not PC100, it might not work.
Parts catalog Fax Option Type M12, G3 Interface Unit Type M12.pdf
Service manual is too large to upload. PM me if you want it.Comment

Re: Fax memory question(s)
Slimslob, thanks for this information and the lesson on memory dimms. The ones that I tried were in fact not PC100. I will try again to find one that is and see if that works. Will let know what happens.Comment
