On the machine in administrator tools/address book at the point where you have the folder path can you connect with the pc?Do you have the IP address of the WAP configured in your machine interface sttings?

well dear machine is not equiped with wireless option, i think i got u confused. the actual case here is that machine is connected to ethernet with static ip, n under the same domain there is a wireless network with dhcp config. so when i put computer name instead of ip address in the folder path field it should connect to the destination n browse for the shared folder but shows "connecting to pc failed" or something like that.
      wot U :-Say

If you have a static ip address there shouldn't be a problem, the wirelass network that is on the same domain is of no consequence to your machine. I always use an ip address in the pathname and never a computer/server name as the ricoh machines have trouble recognising them. The other issue is that another device on the network could be using the same ip address as the machine causing a conflict. If you can try an ip address 20 or 30 digits above the largest known ip address, ie: you have 5 pc's with 192.168.1.10, 11,12,13 and 14 Two printers withe 192.168.1.20 and 21 a server on 192.168.1.30 then give the machine ip 192.168.1.55 for example. that way you can eliminate any conflict. Also put the pathname in ip format and try the connection test, and please make sure user and password are correct. Good luck

The only problem with using IPs in the path name is if the net administrator decides it would be fun to change the network IPs. Been there, done that.

As for the original question, check your DNS settings. Also check if you have any kind of firewall blocking the scan.
