I have one that has just barely over 550k on the unit itself, with one belt change. I will be the first to admit though that I change the ITB Cleaning unit at or before PM intervals.
sigpic The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.
We have a couple of MPC4500s over a million copies now that are still on there original ITB unit.
Just a belt and number of cleaning units changed.
I think it helps that the ITB is located above the drum units resulting in them running much cleaner and the other thing is that belt is not being used for paper transport just image transfer.
Good reliable MFDs, I really like working on these models.
(I wouldn't recommend doing fuser rebuilds on-site though, far easier to fit a spare and tackle it in comfort back at the workshop).

Got to concur, these units last a long time . . . if you think back the Ricoh 3245 had transfer units that were supposed to last a million copies, I believe. But I would change the transfer belt at the interval for the whole unit. The thing to watch out for is knocking the transfer bias rollers out of position. Just did that last week on a machine and it took an hour to disassemble, repair, and reassemble the unit.

on average i get about 450k before they make noise and possible color misregistration. I must admit i dont ever change the cleaning unit till there is a problem.
