    Savin c3535 toner issue

I have a savin c3535 that I'm working on and it doesn't reconize to black toner as being installed. Customer is trying to use ricoh 3500 toner. Is this the problem? From what I have seen this works on multiple machines. Do they need the Savin brand. Customer ran the black completely out and drilled a hole it the toner tube and added R-1060 toner and tried to run it. will this cause the toner issue ? if so what will need to be replaced? Thank You.

Charge them for a new machine. These toners are not swappable once they have been installed in the machine. They are electronically 'married' to it. If you put a bottle from a different machine in that has already been installed in that other machine, it will not work. c3500 toner is also different than the c4500 series toner.

These machines use ultra fine toner with wax fused into it. Using anything other than what you are supposed to, and the entire system will need to be flushed, developer replaced, etc.

    Good luck.
Don't take that toner with me!

I don't know about you, Shrum, but I figure most technicians walking into a situation like that would immediately break into the ol' toolcase, grab an estimate sheet and start writing down the obvious. Stupidity is not covered under our maintenence contracts.

A new one should work. We use the Ricoh stuff in Savins with no problem.
