    B039 9510 Drums

Are any of you experiencing premature failure of these drums? We have had many on the MP series machines. Life on some of them is less than 15K. The drums either develop tiny pit marks or what looks like bubbles on the surface causing spots on the copies. These are original drums in brand new machines. When we replace them we are using OEM blades and drums and still have a high failure rate. This is happening on machines that have experienced few to no jams so it doesn't seem to be related to customer jam clearance. Getting tired of throwing drums away.

Odd that prior to the MP series the drums usually went well past the 60K life cycle.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

We have stopped using OEM drums for this model because of the problems you have described. We have had much better luck with the Katun drum. They wiil also give credit, if needed, for premature failure providing you have good supporting documentation.

      Just my 2 cents....

Have seen one oem drum ever w/bubble out of box. Pits on drum after installation are 99.9% customer caused (drums can't ding themselves). Maybe the Katun drums don't ding as easily.

I've had many of the b039 oem drums go 80k+.

We haven't experienced these problems in the field - except "some" few strange phenomena where a screw went out of the cleaning blade and damaged the drum. But all in all these drums are running quite well.
