athena jam codes at power on

has anybody else been getting this- intermittent fuser/bridge unit jams with no real reason but the smc logs all the jams at power on. Ricoh reccomend changing the push switch in the bridge unit. I had an mpc 3000 today with 285 jams logged at power on!

Replace the bridge unit switches, or add some length to the switch actuators.
Don't take that toner with me!

Ive seen this problem many times on RMP40s i was told it was a defect in the push switches in the bridge units. I replaced both of them on all units having this problem and haven't had any of these machines come back. Good luck

I agree with Ricoh replace Bridge unit push switches. I've had a few of these in the past and replacing them cures the fault.

That's just an Athena being an Athena, they all do it. At least the customer doesn't see it, it's just logged.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.
