    MP 171SPF Network issue

I have made sure the NIC is turned on in service mode and both lights are on on the network port when a cable is plugged in.

The machine has the latest firmware.

If the IP wont hold, I think you're missing one more "OK".
But it whould pick up the DHCP anyway. Maybe tjere is a firewall issue. Try turning off the firewall momentarily and see if the DHCP works, give it a few minutes/

Jomama46 is right, when you enter the IP-adres and press OK, you should press OK once more to register the IP-adres. Back in the days of the MP161SPF i've spent a lot of time on this issue.

I have pressed "OK" twice, once after entering the ip (also once after entering the subnet) then once more then the word "Programmed" appears on the screen. I too have been caught out a couple of times with that on the MP 161SPFs.

Wierd thing is when you print out the config page from the printer menu it has the programmed IP on it, but when you print the network config page from the system settings menu its allways 11.22.33.44

Is there a network memory setting under sp5801 that I should clear which would perhaps help?

            Finaly got this sorted.
After reflashing the firmware, clearing the network and printer memory and even replacing the controller board as suggested by tech support (didnt make any difference) we finally nutted it out to be a setting issue.

The IEEE802.1X Auth.(Ethernet) was set as active even though according to the book it should be set as inactive by default. Ive no idea how this was changed as it was a brand new machine out of the box which i ran up. I dont even know what the IEEE802.1X Auth.(Ethernet) even does.

Thanks for the suggestions in anycase.
