    Scan to Mac

You can do SMB scanning (scan to folder) to a mac. the mac user will need to enable windows file sharing, found in sys preferences under sharing. that will give you the smb path to the users root folder. from there you can create a scans folder. then just set the folder path in the mfp's address book, enter username and password and you are ready to go

      Scan to hard drive

If you cant get either to work, scan to the hard drive of the MFP and browse to it by entering the IP address of MFP into web browser (Safari), click on doc server.... nice and easy

        ftp

the best way how to use scan to folder on Mac OS system is scan-to-FTP. It's very easy to setup and all you have to do is just fill in user name and password in configuration > file transfers > ftp user name & pass ( or individually in address book).
Scan to email is straight forward I suppose ( configuration > email ) - fill in smtp, email address for copier, auth.details. That's it and the rest in address book.

It is much easier to setup scan to email and avoid the setup to any part of the Mac.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.
