You can try the calibration but chances are that you have a defective touch screen, a bad or loose connection, pinched ribbon cable or even a bad solder joint.

Is this in an environment with those lovely users that like to slam their fingers or worse yet pens on the op panel? Examine the board closely and if you find any cracks...bill 'em!

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

I agree with reliability statement, if you need to calibrate then you will most probably need to replace the top screen
Copiers are only as good as there last service

Thx for the timely info. I found the Ricoh site down for tech bulletins. It must be Thursday.

Don not order a new display yet. First please check with the local Ricoh branch. It's a program in place to replace lots of displays for various models starting with Adonis. We just received this information from Japan. They found out some panels that are affected by moisture.
Provide them the serial number of your machine and they will be able to tel you if you are eligible to obtain for free a new panel.
I don't know details at the moment but the program should start (at least in W Canada) this summer when it will be slow....just in Calgary we will replace ~1000 panels.
                  Good luck

Hi- thank you for the PDF, but do I need to be in a specific menu to type the code? I've tried to enter the code when in Admin mode, but I'm unable to enter Admin mode due to my touchscreen being off - vicious circle!

Nope, from the normal copy screen it's just as you saw in the PDF.

Yes, you do have to change the touch screen, it's failed completely. Part number is B223 9900.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                              Hit it.
