    RPCS Printing

    HI

I have an MPC 3000 printing through a W2003 server using the RPCS driver, if I try and configure multi tray use, i.e first sheet from one tray, next from another, it ignores it and uses the samer tray. If i use the same machine through an XP w/station its fine. I have set this kind of thing up loads of times and have had no probs. The driver is set up using a simple TCP/IP port, and installed locally.

Any Ideas, is it a problem with W2003 server?

I guess you have one of two options - You could try the PCL driver and see what happens or you could continue to use the RPCS driver and set it up as a LPR port instead of TCP/IP.

Trying the PCL driver might be easier since you might have to install the LPR Protocol through "Add Remove Windows Components" (found in Add/Remove Programs in the control panel)

Check your page setup in the document you are trying to print. Make sure it is set to auto paper select. For instance if you are using an application such as MS word, the page settings will override what you tell the RPCS/PCL driver to do.

I've set this up recently using the PCL-driver and it works. At first I tried the RPCS-driver, but this driver doesn't have this functionality. Auto Paper Select must be specified in MS-Office documents.
