    Savin 9935 adding toner continuously

I have a Savin 9935 that adds toner all the time and I've replaced the TD sensor (the one in the developer unit) and it persists. Could the ID sensor be the culprit? As of this moment, the customer leaves the toner bottle out of the machine until the copies run light and them installs the toner for about the next 20-25 copies and it tones back up again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1.Check the toner hooper. The mylars could be gone inside.
    2. Cheat the front door and check if the toner bottle turns continuously or not.
    3. Replace the dev unit + developer.
    4. Run 2801, 2805 and 3001-002.

I took out the toner hopper and the toner motor turns on every copy cycle. I'm having to replace the toner hopper because the plastic loop that holds the metal bar that cantelevers the toner plug out of the bottle is cracked and you can't lock down the green locking lever. I also swapped developer units from another machine and there was no change.
I'll run the service mode function and hope that it works. Many thanks.

When you say that the machine is constantly adding toner, is the bottle constantly on, or is there background showing up on the copies?

I think that to better determine the problem, a couple of things would have to happen:

        1) Is the machine adding the toner because it thinks it needs toner due to a flaky sensor?

        2) Is there a setting that is way out of spec and causing the machine to add toner and the machine is not really determining the toner ratio? What I mean by this is maybe another toner setting is set wrong (either too high or too low), and the sensors are working fine.

In 2-208, change it to pixel count to see if it is a sensor problem. This machine does use both direct and indirect sensing, so both the td & id will be used together to determine the density.

Your output voltages for those sensors, along with vref and others, will better tell you if a sensor is way out of spec.
