    MPC 2500 / 3500 Toner

I know its not recommended......I know it shouldn't be done...I dont agree with it....BUT....
Has anybody used non oem toner in these machines (MPC 2500), My boss has suggested using it. I dont want to go down this road but its not my decision.
    What problems could I face.
I pressume the machine will give a 'non genuine toner error'. Is there a way of geting rid of this error?
    Has anybody any experiences? Thanks

I haven't got any expirience with non-oem toner, but I've heard from others that using this kind of toner is asking for trouble. Copy quality issues, toner leakage, etc.
The money you save for using non-oem toner, you can spend on a few extra visits.

3rd party toner is always a risk.At least with OEM you can get credit on it and save yourself SOME headache. But to try on a few models or one inhouse would be worthwhile.

We've been using PPC products for a while now, these include hot rollers, pcu's and toners. The mp3500 works better for us with the non oem toner than the real deal. However if you're having problems with these boxes the here's the official rtb.

We apparently have some in stock and will be fitting it soon. I wonder what the customer will say when the "independent toner" warning appears? I WILL NOT be telling ANYONE that there may be a way to avoid this message!!

            indpendent toner warning

Thanks aabarnes1. We have used ppc mp3500 toner as well without much problems. Im talking about Colour MPC 2500 toner, have you used same, and what are your experiences . If people are using this toner I presume the machine will flash an "independent toner" on the display as tcs04 eluded to.

              Hey,

We have experiences using non genuine products on the ricohs. Eric1968 has it just right. non oem toner, like katun for example, can give a lot of leakages, quality issues and most important....non satisfied customers and demotivated technicians.
We still using it on most b/w mfp's from Ricoh, and the problems are the biggest in the 350 segment. Some, like mp173/af3025 etc, will do it fine.
I would not recommend it for high capacity machines, for the simple reason that you can't afford it that a machine is down due to cheaper toner.

The mpc segment is very good, certainly by the stability of the colors and processing....
It should be unwise just to look at the prices of a toner....

Yeah we've been using ppc toner inthe mpc's for over a year now and we don't have any problems with it. Dont go near katun- it's shite

My best advise after working on Ricoh color boxes since the NC5006 (shiver) and the lovely revolver type units ....
Avoid non-oem toner on all COLOR products. Trust me you will be not be saving any money. A few dollars per bottle won't compare to the cost of having to flush the crap toner out, replacing the developer, sometimes the drum and let's not forget the 'face-time' at the copier, drive time and the customers frustration with quality.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

Been using the toner supplied by Allcopy for the last 3 months, no probs so far. CQ good and getting a decent yield.
