    converting the new ricoh color drums

    is there a way to convert the new ricoh color drums for the mpc2500-5000 models?

    You take a black drum ,remove the plug on the back end and the wiring from there to the front, take these parts from the color unit and install them on the black drum . Take the color dev unit & put on the black pcu.
    I just did this yesterday on 2 machines all color units

      Do you have to change the front covers of the drum?

        You can use the one with the color label on it. Discard the one with black on it.

            We just got some black drums in today and ricoh has changed the way the plug is is mounted on the rear. It was mounted with some soft glue and a screw, but now it's glued on and the screw was changed . We just super glued it to the unit it's being put on.

              My company suggests simply filing the connector...it works fine, just don't file too far.

                The connector has a metal insert in it now, making it harder to file it down.
