Authentication failure when scan to Gmail

Mpc.2050 will give authentication failure message when customer scan to gmail smtp server. Check connection to smtp from copier is good. Turn on smtp authentication, entered user name, password, change port #, still no Go. Other solution ?

There are a bunch of threads about setting up scan to Gmail, unfortunately I think your out of luck. Basically gmail uses SMTP with SSL (secure sockets layer) and Ricoh machines do not support this.

I did this awhile back for an at home business (they have since gone OUT of business) and it worked as I recall, but that doesn't mean that Google hasn't made changes since then.
For Comcast, and other ISP's has anyone tried using the settings they recommend for travelling? They change some of the ports if I recall correctly. The information should be on the ISP's support pages.
Found this... I believe this is what I did for a customer.

I've had no luck with Southwestern Bell/AT&T/Yahoo DSL Services. The copier doesn't seem to like Port 995 or 500 range etc. That or their phone support is not giving me all the info. I user their OLD SMTP/POP info from years back and that works.

        Another Suggestion,

        http://www.gmx.com

        Free Pop/SMTP

Yep no Secure SSL for Server connection with Ricoh.
and I think Google changed their server info
