    SP VS. SSP

Can anyone tell me what different adjustable modes are added with SSP? My service manual does not include this info. I have quickly scanned through them and did not notice anything new.

The only option I use in SSP is the A3-Double-Count-option. There are a few other options in SSP that aren't in SP. These are marked with DFU in the Service Manual. You should be carefull with those options. Some of these options can only be changed 1 time. Most of these SP's don't have to be changed.

There are certain voltage adjustments and other items that can be adjusted with the 'special' mode. Every once in a while, you will use one.

I figured that the DFU was for Don't F'n Use.

I guess they do not want us messing with those optional settings.

Thanks for the info. Other than the double count it sounds like something I need to stay out of. I have had the "I wonder what this does?" affliction in the past with a couple of negative results.

There is another useful one in SSP. On the 1035 and up series the mode 5958 controls the timing of the clutches. Sometimes you can skip replacing the clutches if you increase the value of 42.5 mm to 52.5. Doing this can sometimes cause reg problems but it is effective most of the time in buying time to get parts.

It's actually "Design / factory use" but I think most of us came to same conclusion as you!!..... I supect the Trainers have heard this so many times it's not funny any more"

The "Special" SP mode is only the second level, to be accessed by "Senior" Engineers

I think the access for "DFU" setting is C/A 1.4........ etc

Lets you into the "Spooky" areas of machine settings where us mere morals are not allowed!

If you are privileged / lucky enough to have access to the infamous Screen Capture Tool, there is a switch under SSP that needs to be toggled in order to use it.
