Perhaps bit more info is required...like...ummm...maybe.... The model of the machine you are installing it on.

Different models may or may not require the installation of an interface board.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

I haven't done one on that model. The ones I have done on the MPC4500 require an interface board. The 3260/5560 does not. There are also SP modes you have to change in order for the machine to know what type of counter you are connecting and some settings in User Tools to change. Get your manual out and search 'external counter'...in the SP mode section you will see all the different settings. If you don't set the right one the unit won't count correctly. The B&W's are much easier!

My best advise is to get on the phone with your Equitrac rep and give them the model number of the MFP. They have all the settings, harnesses and requirements for each model at least mine did...he was brilliant. Other than supplying the interface board information the Ricoh HotLine was pretty useless because it's a 'third party' unit. Ususally when you purchase from Equitrac...at least here in the states, the initial install is included.
