    E5100 Fiery and MP C5000

    Hi,

We just had three of the E5100 / MP C5000 combos go out today, just about to install them with the techs.

Has anyone had much experience with these, primarily color quality and connectivity related?

I'm really happy that you can actually connect both the RIP and MFP separately, getting back the features that you normally lose with a Fiery.

I'm hoping that they will fare better than the E5000 / MP C4500 "gem". (MFP - good... RIP-baaaaad).

    Many Thanks!

    Hi,

I've recently installed a few of these. Being able to connect both the GW controller and Fiery to the network independantly is definately a boon. Although there are a couple of limitations to some GW functionality. (Fax forwarding to email is the 1st on that comes to mind.)

Also, every one that I have installed to date has had the same issue, being unable to configure the Fiery remotely through a web browser. (Cofinguring with CWS is fine.) The java applet just hangs. This seems to be resolved by reloading the system software.

There are also two patches available.
    1) Printing may not start if the MFD is in energy save mode.
2)Printing stops when sending fax and print a job at the same time, Some texts are overlapped, When print a very large job to the Document Server, no alert message is displayed on the copier panel.

Even so it surpasses the E5000.

Thanks for the quick response and the heads up!

Good to know about losing the fax forwarding to email; that isn't something one would think of right off the top. I wonder if forwarding to folder works.

It looks like we're about to have a bunch of these going out soon, so I'm just trying to be prepared.

      Thanks again.
