Savin 4022sp touch screen display problem

Thats probably what you're going to pay. I havent had to buy one of these in particular yet but they generally run the dealer between 250 and 350$. The p/n is B004-5216. Yeah, I know, B004 is a 1035 but in this case the 4022 (B089) uses the 1035 LCD.

This Savin 4022sp's touch screen display has a problem where there is a blacked out bar running up & down the left side of the display. This happens approx 5 mins after the display comes on. I attached (hopefully) a pic of what it looks like. Anybody know if this can be repaired, or does the display have to be replaced?

Sir,no body inform you to calibrate first the touch panel,try to calibrate if cannot make change the touch panel your problem is solve.ok

Press clear modes, then press 1, 9, 9, 3, then press the stop button five times.

Although it does not seem as though this is a solution to your problem here, after the other posts, it will come in handy on most all other machines.

AF3224 display

has anyone met this problem on a AF3224. Slight difference is that the bar is to the right of the panel and sometimes disappears all together. Then after about 3 minutes you start loosing sensitivity in the top inch of the display so much so that if are in sp mode you can not open menus 1 and 2 and 3 becomes tricky having to touch a lower key then the on wanted. I have already check the connections and replaced the board with no change. I am now waiting for the display to become available at Ricoh.

We solved the original post by sending him a touch screen/lcd as others stated ricoh had a real prob with the touch screen. in your case ????? easier to replace whole display from a junker if possible if you dont have one get back 2 me i might could find one 4 ya !!! good luck with it!!!

I've seen issues with dark bars on 4022 LCDs. Sometimes if you adjust the brightness dial on the left side of the machine it will fix it, the bars being only apparent on the highest or the lowest brightness setting.

The current issue with touch panels isn't the display layer of the op panel sandwich, it's the touch layer. It' s also only affecting specific models, which doesn't include the 4022. Hell, the 4022 is over five years old, I doubt that any manufacturer of any product would RMA defective part after 5 years, even if it was a manufacturing defect, which seems unlikely in this case.

That copier is so old you can probably pick one up used for a couple hundred on ebay and have a used touch panel that will last a few years and the rest of the scrap parts available for the price that these third party guys want to charge for just the LCD.

I just looked it up on ebay, here's one for three hundred smackeroos. Pick it up yourself and save some dough.
