Has any body seen or worked on an mp6001? I have a sales person who wants me to talk up this machine to upgrade a customer who has a canon ir 5020 but I don't know anything about the ricoh. Any opinions or expeiriece out there? Any type of info would be awesome. Thanks in advance

This one is based on the MP6000/6500 series. When maintained every 300k it's the perfect machine!

Just launched in June 09. Haven't seen one, but if it's like it's predescessors, should be a good runner.

I've had various generations of these machines in Print Shops for years. They've had their quirks like every other machine out there, but honestly very few of them. If they run regular paper the fuser will go way over its rating if you slow down the cleaning web. Keep the process area PM'd and you can't kill it.

Two HUGE improvements over the older MP6000:

1). Color control panel display

2). Now features one pass color scanning

The mp6001 is a really good machine as some one else posted. You really need to keep up with the PM's or all bets are off. FYI!! Ricoh has been shipping them with the web interface turned off! For security reasons. Make sure that it is turned on with SP5985-01 and SP5985-02 both set to 1. Also you may need to check SP5828-90 and SP5828-91 set to 1. I set up print and scan ok, but the IT people could not access the WIM! Big headache! Easy solution. If you encounter this issue you can thank me later! This may also apply to other Ricohs recently shipped. Have a look! Best of luck!
