    USB Printing

    Hello there, guys and gals!

Does any Ricoh MFP support printing from an USB pendrive? Or is it something that Ricoh just doesn't like to do - like the MP C2050, that only does Scan-to-USB?

I ask this, because a customer of ours has a Ricoh 2045e and he want's to be able to do that. Although I doubt it, because the machine is a wee bit old, I'm still in doubt about the generality of the machines, and if any will do it.

Anyway, is there an optional for the 2045e that can do this?

    Cheers!

Ha no Savin/Ricoh has not got on the bandwagon for printing from USB. I think they see that as "Home use"

Even there NEWEST Machines don't/won't incorporate it based off the sales training I was reviewing this week. The only machine I could find that does is the

Savin - AC205 is a digital copier that has copy, print, scan, and fax capabilties

    AC205
Basically its Similar to an 816/3515 Small fax machine/copy/scan slow as hell and used AIO Cartridges instead of toner bottles.

That was my feeling exactly. But I wanted to be sure, I don't like to go telling things to customers without at least someone confirming it for me.

      Thanks for your feedback.

And the AC205 was actually a Samsung, or Sharp, or something, as I recall.

With a Savin label on it? I wouldn't be surprised. I'd heard rumour that Savin bought our the IBM printer division as well. Wondering how that tech will be melded with Ricohs.

Heck I just googled and shows Ricoh Brands and Samsung = Same Parts for most of the AC series.

On the AC204 it was Samsun, Ricoh Brands and Xerox lmao wow

Most if not all of the Ricoh Fiery units will print from the USB port.

            Only certain file types, though...

Not had any experience with Fiery units. Hell never even seen one.

As for that FX200 wonder if that's new. There is no Savin equivalent.

I kind of assumed that all Fierys are capable of that, since it is also common on the (at least more recent) Konica Minolta Fiery-equipped machines.

                    I would think so, too.

It's just that there have been soooo many subtle (and not so subtle) differences lately that you need to specify just which model is in question.

Apparently the FX200 is not a "globally marketed" MFP.

I see all kinds of Google Search hits on it around the world, but none for North America - other places, too, I would think.

Well, actually, Ricoh purchased the IBM Printing Systems Division. The new company, a joint venture with IBM, is now called InfoPrint Solutions Company. That actually took place some time ago. I think Savin is another sud-sidiary of Ricoh.

Yeah Savin is a Subsidary of Ricoh. But I didn't know the buyout was done in that manner. Gotcha.

Well Ricoh market these through normal channels. Ditch the GELSPRINTER
