    Scanning issue Ricoh 2232c

I just got my printer working again, but every time I scan, I just get the "scanning...." prompt and nothing happens, it pretty much freezes on me every time and i have to turn off the main power and then restart it.

I'm not sure what it is but I really need to get it fixed has anyone ever gotten this error before and if so, how did you guys fix it

btw, I use to get SC 121 and that is an error on HP scanning Motor defective but do you think this may be the issue? and how much would that motor cost

    thanks

The SC121 error code the machine is throwing doesn't necessarily mean that you have a defective motor, it is a scanner home position error. The HP sensor is not detecting an off signal.

Anyway, you said that you got it working again, so was is this error you are referring to that was fixed or was there another error or problem you fixed?

I don't think that the 121 error is specifically related to your scanning problem, although the code relates to a specific condition that needs to be just right before the machine does scan.

What else was done to the machine? I am thinking that the error code and the problem you're having is coincidental, without having any additional information supplied.

Usually weird things like this are more firmware related or bad RAM/DIMM, HD, or something like that.

Once I thoroughly backtracked my steps from working on the machine, I would redo the firmware, in case there's some software glitch. Unfortunately, I have not had this specific problem with this machine, and someone else may be able to give more specific advice.

It sounds like you have incorrect network folder's user name and/or password.

Usually Firmware, sometimes bad HD or Ram Module. Occasionaly Network Path is bad and it doesn't time out and give you an error. Can that model browse the network?

If the 2232 had a connection test on the address book under folder try that to see if you get a connection sucessful. If you dont then I am
not sure if you have one available. But the best thing to do is to hook up a laptop to the copier directly. create a folder with all the neccessary info.
See if you can scan to the laptop. If you are able to scan to it. The issue is probably the network path or password.
