Please help
When printing a autocad file by Aficio 470W printer, if the drawing has a large amount of numbers, then the number 8 and 9 were fully filled by black color
what's will I do ?

sounds like a problem with a driver. If its possible try to use PostScript.

Version of Plotbase software?
Version of AutoCAD software?
How is the plot file created? WinPrint? Plot to file and PlotClient? HDI Driver?

The PostScript-Module is an Option you must buy.
If you print a config-page you see (somewhere in the first lines) the available printer-languages (sorry, dont know the exact word) like: PCL, PS (PostScript), RPCS...

An if you see there PS you can download the drivers from Download | Ricoh Support Europe

If you dont have PostScript try to use the latest version of PCL

They are too large to send. All the software is on the Ricoh TSC web site.

The software (Plotbase) is the Printer. The software is installed on a W2K or XP PC along with the proprietary board, and the cable connects the copier thru the printer expansion option on the 470W. The print drivers are then shared (WinPrint) off of the host PC. It is recommended that the PC not be a workstation used by others and is dedicated to the Plotbase SW.

The path locally would be \\ <name_of_PC_hosting_Plotbase>\RW470W. Double click on that to ADD the printer to the users PC. There is a tools folder that contains the WinPrint driver, but it will ONLY install on the PC that has the Plotter control board on it.

Plotbase is about 300-450 MB download iso file. The license to use the software is acquired thru www.rspfiles.com using the serial # off of the board in the host PC.

I'm sorry that I cannot be more specific, but this is a 3rd party software licensed to Ricoh.

I'm sorry that I cannot be more specific, but this is a 3rd party software licensed to Ricoh.

...and it has a nasty reputation.

I've seen all kinds of artifacts dropped into the output by older versions of PlotBase, and honestly, the new versions aren't much better. I have one customer who still cannot print PDF's he gets from some state contracts. He converts them to a TIFF and they print perfectly.

It's been a while since I've had to fool with this Piece Of Sh.. um... Software, but you may be be better off investing your time finding a workaround, since there may not be an answer. The newer Ricoh wide format machines use the same GW controller the copy machines use. Works much better. Scanning is usable on the GW controller as well.

3rd party software ... i really can not understand how they work. I have sent email recently again and again but still no reply. Now my Ricoh 470w, missed features printing and scanning because of 3rd party software stopped supporting anymore?

You can get very little support from Ricoh as they no longer support this product. You can possible get some support directly from the software mfg. RATIO America, Inc. - Home

You may also be able to get some support from these guys. One of the individuals helped in the design or the software works for them. I have referrred several customer to them and had their problems resolved. I'm sure their service is not free but they may be able to help you.
