no the card is a generic pcmcia compact flash adaptor
my boss dosent want to pay close to $200 for the right one and he got this one for $15
so is there any chance this thing will work? lol
I can guarantee you he got the wrong type of pcmcia card. You need the AMD Type D and they are not cheap. On a upnote, you can now purchase them for much less than they used to cost.
well we have one that works and we were hoping to download the firmware out of the machive via service mode and then use that image to update the other machines
The later machines that use that card prevented you from uploading the firmware from the machine - they only allowed downloading although you could upload NVRAM data and address book data.

I think A232 was the last of those.

I love it when you're wrong, Imind and this is one of those times.
A232 could upload and download firmware.
3235/45 - Turn off the main switch, remove the flash memory card cover. Insert the flash card with printed B side facing the front of the machine, Turn on the machine, press the Yes key. Program Upload from BICU to Flash Card. Follow the procedure above except, hold down the OPERATION Switch when turning the Main power switch on. Press Yes.
The A283/84,(next generation), could do this also
