    3224c noise

This machine makes a loud rubbing/screeching noise after about 16 to 20 copies. It's coming from the fuser/ exit area but I cannot locate it. I've cleaned all the fuser unit rollers and exit rollers, lubricated all bushings. I ran the fuser and the main motor in sp mode but I couldn't generate the noise. Any ideas please
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Have you replaced all the fuser PM parts? How many copies have they done?

Did you clean up the oill supply unit rollers and the pad where paper dust bulids up?
Check ther 1232c rtbs as info on the issue i belive you have mentioned in there under RB051034.

In the past we had customers who printed huge volumes with dusty xerox paper where we kept a spare unit so if it occured (strangely the only fault they used to get it seemed on most vists) where we would swap over the oil supply unit then clean up/replace the parts on the one in the unit. But were able to run while there to ensure not due this time to one of the other noises these lovely devices could make
The other place I would get noise on these were if the exit rollers, Where it came into the internal tray would get knocked out of place often when a bridge unit was fixed although that was normally constant.

          Bushing/Cushion.

Have you checked the bushing/cushion on the motor at the rear of the machine. I had a problem with one of these before spliting and seperating and causing very loud intermittent noises.

A sound like a dying seal is indeed a bad oil supply unit - clean or better replace the oil web and sponge/celaning rollers.

I'll go for the oil supply unit then, even though it is thoroughly clean and well lubed with silicon oil.
