    Type P1 vs P2 toner

Does anyone know the difference between the two? Both can be used in the AF 2228c/2232c/2238c models but for some reason in the US the toners have been marketed as Type P1 and rest of the world as Type P2. Feedback appreciated.. Thanks.

A few things come to mind as possibilities:

    1. 110v as opposed to 220v fusers?

    2. Different vendors? Ricoh changes part numbers when a new vendor comes on board, so why not toner as well.

    3. Slightly different chemical composition for things like RoHS etc?
