    AFICIO 1515MF

Hi... I have 2 machines that will copy, print and fax. But they won't scan. These are being used as 'stand alone' units [not networked]. I have checked the past threads and all of them address a networked environment. Pls run me through the procedure to make this machines start scanning documents to PC. Even if it is from square one.
It does seem like I have missed the basics....
    Pls Help!

Do you want to use scan-to-email or scan-to-folder. Scan-to-folder requires the installation of ScanRouter. For scan-to-email you just fill in the IP-adres, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS-server, and Mail Server. Just try to read the supplied manuals on the CD's. It's not that difficult.

There are two options but both are via a network connection, no scanning options for USB connectivity.

      TWAIN (Network)
      ScanRouter (Network)

Should be easy enough to rig up something with a cross-over cable.

[EDIT] Ok make that 3 options then, still a network connection is required.

Have you looked at the Scanner Reference guide?

          Hi..

          Appreciate the replies.

First, I do not have the CD's supplied with the machine .
Second, Both machines (AF151MF's) are connected to the computers using USB cables.

          Is this the problem??

          thanks again.

The USB-connection is only for printing not for scanning. For scanning you can use the (network) Twain driver, or you could scan to email, or scan to folder using ScanRouter.

Don't forget that Scanrouter will only work over a network. Like Eric has said USB functionality on most MFP's in the range is for printing only.

The network TWAIN driver and scanrouter software can be downloaded from Ricoh Europe, or the TESSA website.

My browser can't find that server.

                        Is that a EU site?

What Browser are you using. I think the ricoh site is very picky and has to be Internet explorer to make some of the drop downs work. and yes it's Ricoh support Europe.

I'm using Firefox by choice, IE when I have to.

Turns out my internet was slowly crashing at that time. Got to a point I couldn't even continue using copytechnet a short while after I posted here.

Anyway, I found the site and even found the infamous TESSA page.

That would explain why it didn't work. I am the same. Firefox through and through and then IE when the site doesn't work with Firefox.
