Dont think you can have both the NIC and the wireless in at the same time.

KOPYRTEK is correct but you can connect a WAP to the RJ45 on the machine, then connect the WAP to your network. WAP= Wireless Access Point.
IEEE1284 is not a problem with dual connection.

Just remember that the parallel port is a "high density" one, that looks more like a SCSI 2 connection.

It's definitely not your good ol' Centronics 36 pin variety.

Been burned by that one before.

No it just a mini parallel. You can get an adaptor or if you have lots of money, Richo sells one too.

I had an IT department once INSIST that it wasn't a parallel port when we installed one - they needed a parallel connection to connect their *old* Jet Direct boxes in an *even older* mainframe environment.

We had to eat the cost of the adapter cables.

It's just that the "mini" parallel port takes most folks by surprise when they order it, then go to install it.

Of course, nowhere is any of that actually documented - it's still an IEEE 1284 connection. FYI... IEEE 1394 is FireWire, yet another area of potential confusion.

Thanks folks, that was quite helpfull i think i will go for the one from Ricoh the client has an application that prints basic text and sents it to the parallel port only.

              Thanks Y'all.
