Whatever you did to the SD card, you probably didn't need to do. That error usually appears when the fax board battery is dead, or the battery switch or jumper on the fax board was never turned 'on' from the factory 'off' position.
I don't know which SD card you formatted, but if it was one in slot 1 or 2, it was an application program card which may now be no good, and need replacing.Don't take that toner with me! -
Formatted SD Card
I've received this error if the machine has less than 1 GIG of memory. This was only if Java was installed. Just a thought~Comment

[QUOTE=pLatik;91146]I Format the sd card of the Ricoh 3224c [QUOTE]
Just a couple of points here......
Some SD cards have copy protection in place and will not work after they have been formatted.
There are even some cards for some models that will no longer work if you simply take them out of the copier and turn the machine back on without the card installed.
Anyway, it would be helpful if you could tell us what SD card you are talking about.Comment

This message is not about SD-cards. The message in the display is : SRAM has been formatted. When you install a fax unit in a machine, this is the first message you'll see after switching on. Just a memory clear for the fax application is then enough to reset the message.
Could also be a battery problem like Fearless V K mentioned.Comment

It's probably just the fax MBU not sitting correctly. You probably need a new system card if you've tried to mess around with the existing one. Before that you can try to copy the content of the working card on your trouble-card. Make shure you copy all files - just compare the used disc space after copying. Maybe even that won't work after formatting the file system but it's probably worth a try.Comment

I am talking about the sd card from the machine. by mistake, i formated the sd card and now no longer work showing that the error that i said "sd card authentication failed." I think that was the format that should have taken a protection system that existed in the original sd card of the machine. i used a original sd card from another machine and the machine started worked without any error. I have the original data that were within a backup card. is there any way to recover the card?Comment

So you formatted the system SD card from the machine???Those cards are copyrighted and created in a proprietary format in the factory to prevent copying. They have files on them that can't be seen by a windows computer. You need a new system SD card for the copier. If you can't get one....you have a 200 pound doorstop.
How does one format "by mistake"???? Sorry Dude...you screwed the pooch on this one. If you would have looked up the original error message in the service manual or come here to the forum with the original error you would not be in this situation now.sigpic
Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

Anyway, you want to get it fixed. A new one is only about $175 retail (at least for the 3260c). .........................................
Scratch that..........
Hey dude, I'm a little frosted. Just went to the trouble to find a part number for you to order. This model does not have a system controller SD card. So how about we quit dicking around and you just tell us what the hell card it is you fucked up. You know , maybe read the damn SD card label. There are only about a dozen different flavors of SD card based apps.Comment

That's the part # of "Sd-card:T-C1:P/S:EXP:Ass'y" - I'd suggest to order this one to get this issue solved without wasting more time. Maybe it's not that expensive anyway.Comment
