    MP 4000 scan to folder

I have a MP4000 which has been happily scanning to folder on a windows 2003 server for the last 9 months. Last week it stopped scanning. I am able to scan to any other PC on the network but not the 2003 server.
The server does not have automatic updates enabled so as far as the IT company who maintain the server are concerned nothing has changed.
The machine is stalling at the browse network stage. After inputting the IP address of the server the copier displays the message (cannot find the specific path, please check connection.)
All anti-virus and firewall have been disabled. The port is still open and the IT company have installed a piece of software onto a laptop to enable the laptop to be used as a smb scanner. The laptop has been set to the same IP address as the MP4000 to make sure the server is not rejecting the IP address. The laptop is able to smb scan to the server successfully.
All of the SMB packet and secure channel signing enforcement policies have been disabled on the server.
There are no logs on the server of any unauthorized access attempts.
    Any Ideas??

Man you are in the same boat as me. Same situation. I finally just gave up on it.
Their IT company says it may have had to do with changes to the Firewall Router that is in Place. Ya know that kind that cost 4 Grand and can do anything. They eventually figured out what it was. They also weren't using Automatic Updates on their Server 2003

What i would suggest doing is get a copy of wireshark on that network or on a laptop that is directly connected to the copier and the network (using 2 ethernet ports) and check the message that is being given to the copier why it is not able to hit that folder. Wireshark is one of the greatest packet sniffers, it has saved my butt multiple times while working with weird network related issues. Let me know if you need any questions answered about how to set it up if you are to use it. (if there are any gramatical errors on my reply please forgive me i am connected through my iPhone)

are you able to browse into the server from PC side?
have you try pinging from machine to the server?

Turns out the problem was that there (WINS) licence: Whatever that is?? had expired and because they had flow control enabled on the network card it was not enabling the copier to scan. They turned off flow control and presto we could scan again.
Took there IT company 2 days solid of trying different settings to find it.

Flow control on the network card settings? The Wins license.. interesting.

I just had that happen last Friday.

The admin password did not work, but when we used no user name or password, it mysteriously did.

This was on a Ricoh MP161 scanning to folder on Server 2003 - nothing tricky. Go figure.
