fax forward to email for MPC3300

Hey guys,

anyone of you encounter when fax forwarding to email suppose to be in PDF format but still received in tiff format?

parameter setting for switch 21 bit 3 already set to 1.

any other setting that need to be changed???

Switch 21 bit 3 only changes between TIFF and PDF when the fax is forwarded to Folder.

Unfortunately, you can only forward to email as a TIFF.

If the customer absolutely needs a PDF, GlobalScan NX Serverless can do the job quite nicely.

I've fought this issue repeatedly, and have yet to get faxes forwarded to email as PDF.

Perhaps this issue varies between marketplaces (ie... Singapore vs. US)?

If so, it wouldn't come as a big surprise.

I don't think is possible on the copiers

On the the copiers when you set the receiver there is only 3 tabs fax, internet fax, and folder. There is no email tab so you use the internet fax(email) but it only sends TIFF.

Have you created an email address in the address book. You must create the address first then you can browse to the address when you set fax forwarding.

yes, I know how to set up email addresses on the address book but what I'm saying is that when you turn on forwarding and you set the receiver (usertools-facsimile features-reception settings-forwarding-receiver) there is no email tab. what you get is a folder tab, a fax tab, and a internet fax tab. Folder tab is for forwarding to a shared folder on the network. Fax tab is for forwarding to a fax number and the internet fax tab is for forwarding to an email address but you get a TIFF. There is a bit switch for converting a file from TIFF to PDF when you forward to a folder but not to an email.

Not sure about the MP C3300s in your area but in Australia all the ones I have seen have the email tab as an option when you want to forward fax.

With PDF an option as stated above.
