    Add Yellow Toner

    Hi guys

I have a MPC2000 just keeps saying add toner. I have cleaned everything from where the toner enters the pipes, right through to the pump. Put everything back together and go the same message. Check the pipe and it was filled with toner. I still got the add toner message. The machine is still fairly new. About 20k on the yellow unit. The yellow looks a bit under toned. It looks like i am gonna have to order a new pump. I just wanted to hear you guys opinion. Parts here in South Africa are expensive.

    Thanks

What happens if you manually dump toner into the developer unit?

When I have to replace the toner pumps, I usually replace the tubes also. You can clean them, but I don't think they get completely clean inside.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

I have had this before, if you have checked the toner is being fed/ or changed the pumps you need to do a memory clear and re-enter all the sp details in manually, also remembering to back up the address book to your laptop. this is last resort, but i did this and the problen got resolved (somthing about the toner counter getting corrupt in the memory) BTW this was on an mpc 2500 which is identical.
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

Ouch Leo what a pain. Couldn't it be a TD sensor in the DV Unit asking for toner as well?

Could be a drive problem to the pump - will it add toner if forced?
If the dev is actually undertoned (and its really hard to tell with yellow) you could have a bad pump, clutch, harness, board, motor, or a hard clog in the tube. causing the machine to not add toner. If it does add toner you could have a bad chg supply or drum ground pulling toner out as fast as it can dump it in - check the waste. A bad ID / TD sensor could confuse the firmware (shhh... don't tell the engineers I said some of their firmware sucks here recently) or, as mentioned the NVRam could be corrupt. All of these failures not including firmware/NVRam are testable - do the troubleshooting, you'll go nuts just throwing parts at it. (or your manager will)

            sensor

If you take the back of the machine off and check the toner end sensor which is a photosensor hasn't got dirty.
I had this problem on a MPC2500 and changed the whole pcu, pump etc. but the problem still occured.
I cleaned the toner end sensor and it didn't come back in with a fault.

I have had the same error numerous times. Swap the suspect toner end sensor with another colour. If the fault goes away then you know it is the sensor.

I changed the pump and pipe. Still had the problem so i took a chance and changed the toner bottle again, and Bobs your auntie. Not totally sure that that was the problem, but will keep a eye on it. Maybe it was just timing, replacing the toner and the time when the motor started feeding toner in the unit.

I also changed the toner on my machine and the problem went away but came back about a day or two later.

I think the new toner satisfys the toner end for a short period, but then it comes back due to the dirty sensor/faulty sensor.
